Foodbank Merger
Bath Foodbank is merging with Somer Valley and Kenysham Foodbanks. From 3rd June 2025, Genesis Trust Bath will be running the combined foodbank and be operating under the new name of Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank.
As you may know, foodbanks have been facing a number of challenges in recent years, not least because of the increase in the volume and complexities of client’s needs. There are also ever-expanding rules and regulations which need to be managed. This inevitably results in increasing activity and costs. Merging the three foodbanks will help us all to maintain an effective service which best serves our clients across the region.
All three foodbanks are part of the Trussell network of UK foodbanks. Clients are already able to access any of the three foodbanks once they receive their voucher, so each foodbank regularly support clients from across the area. We also have joined together in providing Citizens Advice support across all three foodbanks, funded by Trussell.
As well as the name change to Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank, we will also be changing our website to incorporate all names and update to Trussell branding. This is our new logo.
Thank you to everyone who supports Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley Foodbanks with donations of funds and food, as well as the many volunteers involved. Your kindness is enabling local families and individuals to access emergency food parcels when they need it most. We couldn’t offer this support without your commitment.
If you have a regular gift set up with Bath Foodbank, you don’t need to change anything as Genesis Trust will manage the new Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley Foodbank. Thank you for the ongoing support you give through your regular donation.
If you have any questions regarding financial donations, please email Emma Drew, who will make sure your donation is restricted to Foodbank [email protected]
