Ken Loach’s film, ‘I, Daniel Blake’ was shown at Bath City Football Ground on Monday 23rd October. Following the film, which is the story of a number of people struggling with the harshness of the benefits system, there was a Q&A session when those attending had the opportunity to question the film’s director, Ken Loach. Afterwards, representatives of the Bath Foodbank were invited to talk about the work of the Foodbank and the increase in demand that we are currently experiencing.
Finally, a collection in aid of the Foodbank was taken and we are very grateful for the generosity of those attending, whose donations amounted to £462.84. Our thanks also go to Ken Loach and to Bath City FC who hosted the event.
