Van drivers needed

14th July 2016

Applications are invited from volunteers willing to drive the Foodbank van to collect food donations from around the inner city area and to deliver food orders to our Distribution Centres within Bath.

The van operates weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings between the hours of 9.30am to about midday. The van is a long wheel-based Ford Transit that operates out of our warehouse in Batheaston.

The driver, although accompanied by two other volunteers, will be expected to help with the loading and unloading of the van so there will be an element of lifting involved.

The role is voluntary, so unpaid, and the applicant will need to make their own way to and from the warehouse at their own expense. There is free off street parking at the warehouse.

Applicants can apply to drive one or more mornings but must have both a clean qualifying driving license and insurance claims history. To drive, the applicant must be between the ages of 30 and 70 due to insurance restrictions placed on the van.

The applicant should have a working knowledge of the internet as the weekly van scheduling, and other notifications are advised by email.

Applications to be made by email to Chris Jenson at [email protected]
